Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization
dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of
patient care, research, and education.
The Gene Transfer and Somatic Cell Engineering Facility develops, validates, and
implements procedures critical to gene transfer-related clinical research at
MSKCC. The quality assurance and quality control unit (QA/QC) is essential for
providing a laboratory environment compliant with NIH and FDA guidelines.
In this position you will assist the investigators in retroviral transduction
and the generation of transduced hematopoietic cells for clinical applications
and write corresponding protocols/SOPs (cell culture, molecular analyses, flow
cytometry analyses, various protein assays). Analyze gene expression in cell
lines and patient cells (DNA, RNA and protein analyses). Record data, keep
computerized files as well as an accurate notebook, including cGMP complaint
records. Take part in basic laboratory functions (ordering, solution
preparation). Carry out other laboratory duties as requested by PI. Attend lab
meetings.
This is a BL2 laboratory.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BS or MS in Biology or Chemistry and at least two to three years of research
experience. Proficiency in molecular or cell biology strongly preferred.
Computer literate. Excellent organizational, communication skills and team
orientation is required in this position.
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 9AM to 5PM
